Joross Gamboa, His own private Boracay

AFTER ONLY FIVE YEARS IN show business, actor Joross Gamboa has earned very tangible assets that are the fruits of hard work.

Before Joross was discovered on the ABS-CBN talent show “Star Circle Quest,” the Gamboas were already planning to move from a townhouse to their own home in a Parañaque subdivision.

“Joross helped buy this house,” recalls mom Monet, a licensed real estate broker.

The two-story, seven-bedroom Mediterranean-style home is big enough for Joross, his parents, and two younger siblings.

Recently, interior designer Cocoy Cordoba jazzed up the living room, kitchen and dining area. A friend of Joross’ mom, Cordoba suggested a two-tone motif: red and yellow.

He gave the public areas a deluxe makeover by creatively recycling old drapes and reinventing old décor pieces.

In keeping with the Mediterranean theme, the home also boasts a summery garden.

From his earnings, Joross purchased the adjacent vacant lot and built a verdant garden—complete with fountain, gazebo and swimming pool.

Joross’ dad Natto, a government employee, has a green thumb and personally takes care of the bonsai and other ornamental plants in the 560 sq. m.-property, says Monet.

Joross has dubbed the garden his own “private Boracay.”

He explains, “The garden is my favorite spot. Sometimes we even have lunch and dinner at the gazebo. Presko rito (It’s cool here). I also love hearing the sound of the water in the fountain. It’s relaxing.”

He chose the fountain as the subject of photographs he took for a school project.

The third-year Mass Com student (at Southville International School) often does his school work in the garden, too.

“We have Wi-Fi, so I can surf the Net on my laptop from the gazebo,” he says.

Joross loves the fresh air and the laid-back lifestyle in the suburbs.

“I grew up in the south,” he says. “My parents considered moving to Quezon City or elsewhere in the north, but I told them that I preferred to stay in Parañaque.”

The garden is also a perfect venue for pool parties.

Show biz friends Vhong Navarro, Archie Alemania and Jason Abalos motored all the way to the Gamboa residence on Nov. 28 to celebrate Joross’ 24th birthday.

Instead of club-hopping, Joross says, he’d rather hang out at home with his old neighborhood friends.

“He has maintained friendships with elementary and high school classmates,” says Monet.

Joross’ parents make sure that, away from show biz, he leads a “normal” life.

The young actor has also put up his own business—a modeling agency and events company called Tycoon Talents.

“I’ve reached the right age,” he points out. “It’s about time I had my own business, so that I’d have something stable to fall back on someday.”

Although manager Becky Aguila is keeping him busy these days with three indie movies (“Pasang Krus,” “Ang Sumpa” and “A Far Away Land”) and two TV shows (TV 5’s “Five Oranges” and ABS-CBN’s “May Bukas Pa”), he manages to squeeze in school and business.

“It’s all in the time management and self-discipline,” Joross quips.

He’s looking forward to the shoot of “A Far Away Land,” set on Panglao Island, Bohol, by the end of the month. “I heard it’s beautiful there,” he says.

Coincidentally, “A Far Away Land” is directed by American photographer/landscape artist Tim Fitzharris.

Joross, or John Ross in real life, is a self-taught painter, too. Several of his oil paintings are lined up outside his bedroom—a quaint artist’s nook.

Photography and painting are but two of his passions that find expression and fulfillment at home.

From Sister Favour
Beloved Pastor Leonard Johnson

How are you in the lord Jesus t , Dear Purpose of contacting you is for God work,if only your will be sincerely and trusted worthy to followed my instructions and also go with wisdom Of God According to the book of proverb .

I am married to Clement who worked with BAHRAIN . Embassy here in TOGO- LOME for nine years before he died in the year 2007. We were married for eleven years without a child.

He died after a brief illness that lasted for only four days. Before his death we were both born again Christian. Since his death I decided not to remarry or get a child outside my matrimonial home which the Bible is against. When my late husband was alive he deposited the sum of $1.8Million (one Million eight hundred U.S. Dollars) in one of the BANK here in Togo - lome Recently, my Doctor told me that I have serious sickness which is cancer problem. The one that disturbs me most is my stroke sickness.

Having known my condition I decided to donate this fund to a church or individual that will utilise this money the way I am going to instruct herein. I want a church that will use this fund for orphanages, widows, propagating the word of God and to endeavour that the house of God is maintained. The Bible made us to understand that blessed is the hand that giveth.

I took this decision because I don’t have any child that will inherit this money and my husband relatives are not Christians and I don’t want my husband’s efforts to be used by unbelievers. I don’t want a situation where this money will be used in an ungodly way. This is why I am taking this decision. I am not afraid of death hence I know where I am going. I know that I am going to be in the bosom of the Lord. Exodus 14 VS 14 says that the lord will fight my case and I shall hold my peace.

I don’t need any telephone communication in this regard because of my health hence the presence of my husband’s relatives around me always. I don’t want them to know about this development. With God all things are possible. As soon as I receive your reply I shall give you the contact of the BANK here in Togo-Lome . I will also issue you an authority letter that will prove you the present beneficiary of this fund. I want you and the church to always pray for me because the lord is my shepherds.

My happiness is that I lived a life of a worthy Christian. Whoever that wants to serve the Lord must serve him in spirit and Truth. Please always be prayerful all through your life. Contact me on the above e-mail address for more information’s, any delay in your reply will give me room in sourcing another church or individual for this same purpose. Please assure me that you will act accordingly as I Stated herein. Hoping to receive your reply.

Remain blessed in the Lord
